Message Contrary to what many believe, peak HP numbers don't say much about your cars ability to accelerate. What really counts is the shape and location of the torque curve. Since I have not seen your dyno charts I can't comment specifically.

Most highly modified TTZ's, however, have a fairly peaky torque curve. This means that to maximize acceleration (which is what your typical drag race is all about), you need to keep the engine in a very narrow rpm band. Unfortunately, the stock transmission ratios make this very difficult.

The engine on the Z06, on the other hand, has a very flat torque curve and thus give good acceleration across a very wide rpm band. I have said it before and I will say it again. The Z is not a drag racer.
